The Unlock Protocol Foundation is launching its latest airdrop, distributing over 7 million $UP tokens on Base to more than 10,000 community members. This airdrop, starting on March 4, 2025, follows the migration from Ethereum mainnet to Base, enhancing governance scalability for the Unlock DAO. Rewards are allocated based on engagement in the ecosystem during 2023 and 2024, including activities like integrating Unlock Protocol into third-party platforms, creating paid memberships, hosting on-chain ticketed events, participating in governance, and contributing to community discussions. Eligible participants were identified using a point-based system, where points were awarded for integrations, paid memberships, voting in governance, and Discord activity. Multipliers were applied, with integrations receiving a 100x boost, paid Unlock use cases a 5x multiplier, and active Discord engagement a 3x multiplier. Each point converts to 100 $UP tokens, with a maximum cap of 100 points per address.
